GREEN WINNERS!

So we read every single post and believe me we were impressed by everyone’s efforts both new and old to make our world a better place!  We were touched by the fact that some of you have reduced your garbage by more than 50% and some of you were using MAC makeup so you could join in their recycling program...(MAC is my favorite too)  we also thought that painting your roof with the sealer to reduce ...

Since today is "Whatever Wednesday"  I thought I would share some random musings about my weekend.

A+ Teachers

Have your kids (or you) gone back to school yet?  My boys start school today.

Andrew's teacher is a fun, huggie, lovable, dramatic 1st grade teacher who has been teaching at this school since it opened 25 years ago.  She truly loves all her children.  I anticipate a fun year for Andrew.

Nathan is in a special ed class for his main subjects.  And we have been so lucky that his teacher has moved up with him.  This will be his ...

What the heck happened to FREEBIE FRIDAY?

Well ladies I'll tell you what happened...

Our web-dude Neum Schmickwrath (yes that is his real name) decided that he would "update" our site... you know that maintenance that should take place at 3:00 AM when everyone is sawing logs (except the UK and Australia)

So to make a long story short... he experienced some "technical difficulties" and yes, I called him ...

A Quick Trick!

Rub-On Transfer Trick

Here is a little diddy I learned from my cute friend Sarah who owns Scenic Route... If you put a rub-on transfer on a paper project and you don't like where it is or you want to remove it... simply take a piece of scotch tape and lightly press it on ...

Woot Wednesday!

Are any of you familiar with www.woot.com? Well they are a website that offers fun and inexpensive deals on a myriad of items.  Every once in a while they put up a "bag of crap"  for only $5.00.  You don't know what you are getting... it is always a mystery.  My sister has friends that bought the "bag of crap"  and got a plasma screen TV!  Yep!  For ...

I spy a "Roughrider" who uses Ti!

We found this great LO at scrapbook.com.  It is by "Unicorn"  aka Glenda Tkalac from Saskatchewan, Canada.   You can find her work hereWe just LOVE how Glenda used the geometric nature of this Retro Metro paper and played up the squares.  Her journaling inside the squares is genius and the overall effect of this lay-out is simply ...

Cards...

How often do you mail (not email) cards to your loved ones?  I don't do it enough.  And talking on the telephone to my grandma the other day reminded me that I should send cards more often.  She reminds me how she loves to receive cards, letters, and photos in the mail.

And what a great way to play with your scrapbook supplies!  Here are 3 cards that I hope inspire you to make and mail a card to someone you ...

Finally Freebie Friday! (aka I hate airports)

Well I gather that you all may have been wondering what happened to Freebie Friday!  Well I am perfectly willing to tell you!  I was supposed to be home from Detroit yesterday evening... After a delayed flight that caused me to miss my scheduled connection and then a canceled flight which left me in the Cincinnati airport for some hours... then 3 hours in a comped hotel room and then back to the Cinci airport where ...

I spy...

We spied this fabulous lay-out by Robyn W... I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the way she cut the edges of the leaves out and lifted them!  Did you notice the beading on the two circle tabs?  How is that for a tip or a trick?  Simply cut a portion of the image edge and stop halfway and then lift only what you cut!  The scalloped edge... the diagonal paper on the side ...

Butterflies

Traditionally butterflies are pretty and many people want them as mere decoration. In a deeper sense butterflies represent rebirth or transformation from the caterpillar to the beautiful butterfly.

For my son's birthday, we purchased him a butterfly garden kit from the toy store.  What a beautiful gift this was!  The company mailed us 5 caterpillars that all turned into butterflies within 2 weeks.  Andrew loved watching this transformation.  He also loved setting the butterflies free.  I highly recommend this gift ...

Tips and Tricks...

Here is a little trick I figured out while making the above lay-out for an autumn leaves/creativity inc.  Archiver's class.

If you are using an acrylic stamp on your project and you want to only ink part of the stamp, keep some Q-TIPS close by.  Ink the entire stamp evenly and then take off what you don't want ...

BLuR is "off the hook"

We spied this at scrapbook.com and loved how fast and easy it looked to do.  The BLuR collection lends itself to easy scrapping because it is so many layers all ready done for you.  Albertsdob's did a great job by just adding a photo and a few little embellishments with her titles.  Look how cool it was that she outlined the "1" and the "6" to show she ...
